The Dunsborough-Yallingup area is one with a wide variety of things to see and do. The most obvious is the beautiful and sometimes rugged, coastline home to world surfing on the beach at Yallingup. In addition you can go salmon fishing from Smith’s beach. The coastal walks are truly beautiful and the “Rails to Trails” walk is very well known as is the Cape to Cape Track. Along with the scenery there are the many caves to explore. Why not combine a visit to the local Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse, walk along the trails there and also visit the Ngilgi Cave?
Boutique wineries abound as do the newer boutique micro-breweries (Eagle Bay Brewery, Bush Shack, Occy's & Cheeky Monkey) that are appearing. Stop for coffee and cake or lunch at Goanna Gallery (just around the corner from us).
There are wildlife parks and a deer farm where you can try some of the local produce from their farm shop.
Art and local artisans abound in many galleries (The Studio Gallery, Yallingup Galleries, The Lakehouse) available to wander through. Or pop-in to the new Pop-in Art Markets held at Happs Winery every 2nd Sunday. Along with the many local w/e markets (Vasse, Dunsborough & Busselton) where you can view some unique forms of artwork and sample the locally grown produce – cheeses (Margaret River Cheese Company), wines, jams, olives & olive oils (Petra, Vasse Virgin & Olio Bello), Chocolates ("Gabriel" a new chocolatier who makes all his chocolate on-site from imported beans & of course the well known Margaret River Chocolate Company), fresh fruits and vegetables straight from the trees even locally butchered and smoked meats and fish. An unusual 'must-see' is Margaret River Silk Road where they grow silkworms in mulberry trees in a controlled climate then export them overseas to have the cloth spun and woven and then returned to them for sale here on their premesis
There are many winery tours (Taste the South, Wine for Dudes) which visit wineries & breweries, or days out visiting various places including whale watching (Legend Charters & Naturaliste Charters) or try a river cruise from Augusta.
Restaurants and cafes are everywhere and many delicious things to be sampled, including the famous Simmo’s Ice-creamery in Dunsborough and the newer Millars Ice Creamery in Cowaramup! Or see honeycomb being made at The Candy Cow in Cowaramup.
Busselton Jetty is open again so why not take the train down and go down the Underwater Observatory to view all the local fish and grasses that abound. And when in Busselton why not visit the Old Butter Factory and see how life was in the old days on the farm. History abounds here.
Latest place to open is the XCAPE fun park who also have a Millers Ice Cream outlet on site.
